Saatvik September 2016

At least for the past few years, the month of September had been particularly turbulent on me or I used to be tensed in that month. For that specific reason, this year the whole of September my Outlook calendar was scheduled with pilgrimage visits every weekend.

Here is a summary of the same. In detail travelog of each items would feature separately in the blog.

  1. 1st Weekend: Original Plan was for Mattapalli/Vijayawada. But since due to Waiting List issue had to take a detour and visited Thirunallar instead.
  2. 2nd Weekend: Nagercoil and Thiruvananthapuram
  3. 3rd Weekend: Rameswaram/Thiruppullani
  4. 4th Weekend: Sri Sailam

Perhaps this divine seed sowed for the month of September continues more pilgrimages scheduled.

Bhutiya Bank Branch of @iobtweet (Indian Overseas Bank) at #medavakkam

A few days back I was waiting near Medavakkam Koot Road and the Uber taxi driver told me that he is standing near Indian Overseas Bank Medavakkam. I was confused and asked him again because AFAIK there is no IOB in Medavakkam at all. So he asked me to slowly walk from Koot Road towards Medavakkam and after a couple of blocks next to Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant there is this branch and I located the Uber.

I just noticed a few things about this branch. It was around 8.30 PM. Most of the other neighborhood buildings are brightly illuminated but the name board of this building or the campus was too dark. Even while crossing the building, it was little scary because of the appearance of this building like haunted house and possession of ghost/spirits.

The Uber driver was telling me that it is indeed the branch and is functional during daytime. However my surprise is that why isn’t a simple lighting of the campus can be given to the building or nameplate. I didn’t believe him and was telling that it might have been functional but most probably they had shifted to a new location because of the fact the signboards did not have lights.

A CpGrams (DEABD/E/2016/12295) posted on 9th October 2016 to the head office hasn’t elicited any response from them yet.

Trip to Sri Brahmapureeswar Temple (Thirupattur near Tiruchi)

Yesterday night I boarded the Rockfort Express and reached Trichy today morning around 5 AM. The Trichy Waiting hall seemed to be little congested. However managed to get freshened up and then after having tiffin in a nearby hotel went to Chatram Bus Stand. From there inquired for a bus to Siruganoor to go Brahma temple. This was the temple one software company in Trichy guided me in order to visit the temple. It was a divine blessings that there was an announcement regarding a bus which goes to the temple itself just came to the bus stand. So boarded that bus and after about an hour’s journey reached the temple.

Had a good darshan in the temple and then started from there. In the temple there is a a  belief to take the original horoscope book and keep near Brahma to have the destiny re-written. After completing the darshan took the Trichy bound bus back but got down at Siruganur and then caught a Chennai bus from the highway. It was around a few hours journey and reached Chennai by evening.

Sravanam Pilgrimage to Kumbakonam

Yesterday was Sravanam and hence took the pilgrimage by train to Kumbakonam. The train reached quite late and hence had to complete the morning duties in the waiting room of the railway station itself and then caught a bus to reach Oppiliappan temple.  You might be aware that last month Sravanam got missed out by a few hours calculation in the almanac. The Sravana Deepam got lighted by 11 AM and then after the prasadam distribution started to Alangudi temple.  Alangudi is famous Guru temple. There was a Perumal temple also nearby. After completing both came to Railway Station and waited for Uzhavan express at 9.45 PM to travel back to Chennai.
